A solid core door is filled through with a dense core, so it is heavier, feels sturdier when it closes and blocks more sound than a hollow core door. Discount Moulding carries 15 doors with a solid core (10 hinged doors and 5 bifolds). The styles are Shaker 1-Panel, Shaker 2-Panel, 1-Lite Frosted Glass, REEB PR730W Louver, REEB PRN730FJ Louver, Destino, 1-Lite Clear Glass, Flush Primed Hardboard, REEB Contemporary Louver, Craftsman Shaker 3-Panel and Equal Shaker 3-Panel. 5 of them come primed, ready to paint.
Single doors come 12" to 36" (1'0" to 3'0") wide, in heights of 80", 84" and 96", and pairs fit openings from 24" to 72" (2'0" to 6'0"). Slabs start at $119.99, prehung doors at $169.99 and bifolds at $199.99, and prices run up to $619.99 depending on size and preparation. 10 of them are sold prehung, hung in a jamb with hinges, with a 4 9/16", 4 7/8" and 6 9/16" flat jamb and matte black, brushed nickel, satin brass and polished chrome hinges, or as a slab, the door alone.

What sizes do solid core interior doors come in?
Single doors come 12" to 36" (1'0" to 3'0") wide. Heights are 80", 84" and 96" (6'8", 7'0" and 8'0"). Pairs fit openings from 24" to 72" (2'0" to 6'0"). Each product page shows every width and height it is made in, with the price of each.
Should I buy a slab or a prehung door?
A slab is the door alone, with no jamb or hinges: choose it to replace a door in a frame you are keeping. A prehung door comes hung in its jamb with hinges, ready to set in the rough opening, which is easier for a new wall or a full replacement. Here, 10 doors come as a slab (from $119.99) and 10 doors come prehung (from $169.99).
What jamb depths can I choose?
Prehung doors here come with a 4 9/16", 4 7/8" and 6 9/16" flat jamb. 4 9/16" fits a standard 2x4 wall with 1/2" drywall on both sides and 6 9/16" fits a 2x6 wall. Measure the wall from one finished face to the other and choose the jamb that matches.
