This is an S4S board. S4S means surfaced on four sides: all four faces are planed smooth and square, so the board works as flat stock, a plain baseboard or casing, or a built-up trim.
It is 1/2" thick and 5-1/2" wide. It is sold by the piece, each 16' long.
It is MDF, primed and ready to paint. MDF (medium-density fibreboard) is an engineered board with no grain or knots, made to be painted.
Add up the length of every run in feet, divide by 16 (one 16' piece) and round up. Corners, joints and cuts use extra, so allow for waste.
